William Hopkins Brown was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1934 and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1956, with further education at the University of Maryland, Maryland Institute of Art, The Art League of Northern Virginia, and the University of NM-Taos.

Primarily know as a jewelry maker and silversmith, showing at the Harwood Museum and the Millicent Rogers Museum gift shops, Brown is now making pastels and prints. He was a part of the invitational show, “Pressing Through Time, 150 Years of Printmaking in Taos.”
